Do you remember?

Its funny, the idea that Seattle is a sports town. An entire generation has grown up without ever feeling the joy of a postseason win. Instead they were assaulted with catch phrases like “It’s Now Time,” and “Alive and Kicking” and even “We Like Our Chances!” Ultimately, this lowered anticipation that things would ever truly turn for the better. I mean “We like our chances?!” Well our time has finally come. I know that this post is a bit late, but I still feel excited about the future of our home team. This was us just two short years ago. 1/5/2004 .

“I’m not surprised by Matt’s success,” Favre said. “I’m just surprised it’s taken this long. I didn’t think we could stop him today, really. He has nothing to be ashamed of.” Make no mistake, Hasselbeck had arrived. And that was the first of many dates with January. “I’ll take my guy,” Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren said. “I like my guy a lot. He’s going to get nothing but better.” It was a tough fight, 33-27 wild-card playoff victory at Lambeau Field. But the Seahawks had arrived. The next year was another building year for the Seattle. Ending in a loss Seahawks 20 – Rams 27 on 1/8/05.

But this brings us to the meat of the post. Shawn Alexander. As you can see here, he is a key piece of the Seattle offense. I was digging through the internet tonight looking to see if his contract has been signed. Oddly enough I found this. The funniest part is look at the date posted. Posted: Tue Jul 19, 2005. Wow. This is such a different look at the league MVP. But in Seahawks Huddle’s defense I also found this. A little better look at today’s Shawn Alexander. But also this brings questions to my mind. Will we, or should we pay a ton of cash for Shawn? With all of the other contracts up for negoitiation will Shawn make the cut?
